A lot. All our lists probably pale in comparison to Brad's and Romero's piles though.

I have 16 unwatched DVDs.
The number is rapidly decreasing because I've stopped buying DVDs.

Believe it or not but my DVD shopping list is finally empty. :D
(except for a few unreleased titles)
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Watch the films highlighted in bold asap. Dongmakgol was my favourite film this year (actually the DVD was released late last year, but by the time everyone received their copies, it was 2006 already). After you watch that, every other Korean film will appear crap in comparison (ok for about a week or something).

Here's my list:

Sleepers
Nana
Failan
Lost Highway
Shining Boy and Little Randy
Taste of Tea
The Uchoten Hotel
Daiteiden no yoru ni (aka Until the Lights Come Back)
Village of Dreams

Not bad if I do say so myself - I'll easily get through those in no time. Like Tom, I've become more of a film viewer as opposed to a DVD collector.

Yes it will be a lot, but I do have a lot more than your average person :) way to many to list really thats why I am trying to sell as many as I can at the moment as I have crossed over into insanity. Want to clear a few shelves full of them as its silly and I have no room.

Still I dont watch much TV at all, so I always get to watch them in the end.

But its mainly lesser films I dont watch, all the films I look forward to I watch instantly :)

by the way Damo, Big Swindle and Welcome to Dongmakgol are very, very good :)

At what level of DVD collecting does one pass over into insanity? Just so we know when we better start worrying :D

p.s - You've passed over into insanity and have no room yet you spend £200 at DDD???

Honestly once you pass 1000 you have a serious problem I think :D saying that even 500 is a massive amount :) I pased 1000 a few years back now I think, still at least I have plenty to watch even if I dont have the time to watch them all.

If boxsets count as 1, then I'm on 999.
Which, in Romero terms, is extremely close to insanity. Image

My 1000th DVD will be Stephen Chow's Love on Delivery.

I think it gets a bit disheartening having so many dvds (100s, 1000s) and knowing you may never have time to watch them all properly, bar winning the lottery and sitting on your arse all day.

My list says 1300 ish, but it isnt exactly perfectly up to date. So It could be a lot more, or even less for all I know, probelm is I own so many massive sets with loads of films in them and tonnes of TV sets and Silly Limited editions which take up emense amounts of room.

Still any way you look at it, its a few to many. I am selling plenty of the bigger limited edition to make lots of cash mind you. They were good investments.

I don't see the point in having so many DVDs you'll never get around to watching.

It's just buying for the sake of it.

I'm in the process of REDUCING my collection.

Most films aren't worth owning.

According to my DVD Profiler they are 1007. Number 1000 being the German tin case edition of "A Bittersweet Life".

Updated the list with the Japanese films I have to watch. My goal is it to reduce the number of the films in my list here ASAP.
