That looks like an impressive Player given it's a budget title. DTS-HD and TrueHD Bitstream plus Profile 2.0/BD Live.

When you say it's MR, do you mean DVD or BD? Or Both? I don't see it mentioned in the review but do in the comments. If true, that is very impressive indeed. The reviewer needs to get on an test this! Home Cinema Choice write decent reviews.

If it isn't BD MR then I'd avoid and get a Sony/Samsung for around the same price.

Both. It's remote switchable if you have the six-digit codes.

That's awesome. Where does it actually say that though? What are the codes?

The codes are:

973502 (Region B)

Tray needs to be empty and closed.

Source please? What about the SD DVD codes?

It's one to consider Grim definitely but how good a BD Player it is could be questionable. It does pretty well in that review though. It would be odd to have a Panasonic TV but Aldi BD Player that's for sure.

I wrote the codes down, but can't remember the forum I found them on. One of those home cinema type forums where techie types debate such matters. If I come across it again I'll post a link. You may beat me to it.

Either code makes DVDs multi-region. You only need to switch between them for Blu Ray.

If the badge on the front said Sony it would have no doubt been rated higher. There's a lot of brand snobbery in home cinema.

Yup from what I can see he said amazing player, yet only 3, thats some odd review. Not sure if its got something to do with the sound side, as he did seem to have some problem, but 3 is odd. But if multiregion I would say stuff stars! its perfect :D

Amazing considering the cost, I'd imagine.

That reviewer doesn't look like he is. Check out the comments. It lost marks due to all the audio playing problems he got testing it. It's mentioned somewhere in the review.

My local Aldi has this player in-stock. Have reserved one to be collected Saturday. Fingers crossed it's the star buy it appears to be. I don't have any Region A titles at present so I won't be able to check the region free status - in case anyone was about to ask. ;)

I don't have an HDTV in my bedroom if that's what you mean.

I tend to watch my films very late when everyone else is in bed so it's never an issue.
