Local councils have the final say on what certificate a film is given so it's entirely possible some overturned the original 12A. Mind you councils know eff all about the classification process. I believe one gave Billy Elliot a PG despite it's 42 f-words just because some parents wanted kids to see it(!)bradavon wrote:Didn't some cinemas show Spider-man with a PG rating? Because parents complained 12 was too high.
I think the company applies for an exemption based on the content so it's not subject to classification. The BBFC website will probably give you more detail on this.Surely it's the BBFC who says if a film is Exempt? So effectively they're passing it too.
