And finally, here's a bit of new information that should excite fans of both Blu-ray Disc and The Matrix. Sources at Warner Home Video have confirmed to us that when The Matrix Trilogy makes its way to Blu-ray (likely in the 4th quarter, timed to the DVD and Blu-ray release of Speed Racer), The Animatrix will also be released on Blu-ray Disc in true 1080p high-definition. Whether it will be included in the box set or released separately (or both) is still TBD, but the simple fact that The Animatrix wasn't included in high-def in the HD-DVD box set was a key complaint for fans, so it's nice to know the studio is rectifying that on Blu-ray.
Foreign language films are bigger hits today than used to be and The Orphanage HD is currently exclusive to America so I'm not surprised New Line locked it.
It looks like a nice BD. The DVD only has English (or French) subs for the film, so I bet the BD is the same. According to DVDGo it only has DTS or DD5.1 (like the DVD), no HD Audio. That could of course be wrong.
To clarify then it's not been released in any other English speaking markets (unlike Pan's Labyrinth when that was released) and is isn't out much in other countries. Meaning people wanting to import is likely.
I think I'll go to the cinema tomorrow night to see it. Spanish cinema is almost always excellent, it's more reliable than HK cinema IMO.
I've seen more than you, so that makes me more qualified to make such a statement. It goes without saying I am basing that on films I've seen. I'd have thought that was obvious.
Sex and Lucia is overrated (but I'll give it another chance before selling the DVD) but other than that I cannot think of another Spanish film that disappointed me, for a long time. I cannot actually think of another one period.
And opening it up to Spanish language cinema it continues to impress me even more.
I think you will find you probibly have not seen more than me judeging by the amount of films you say you watch in general I have seen tonnes as far backl as 16 years ago when they used to show one ever few days on late night Channel 4, I dont go on about them as many were shit. I used to watch all films I ever could on TV that I could as I was a student, now I dont bother with TV at all so do not see many Spanish film at all as I wont risk paying much for them

Spanish cinema is good that it's convinced you to leave that pile of Pedro Almodóvar DVDs that own to go unwatched, gathering dust.
It would otherwise be an easy purchase for me. Excellent and very underrated film that it is. As it's the much inferior (but still good) Theatrical Cut I'll be sticking with my DVD.
I thought Natural Born Killers was crap, from beginning to end, awful experiment of a film. Its not underated at all, you obviously do not read much at all if you think it was ever underated. OVERATED it was.
Given that it's uncut everywhere, except the UK cinema release and Sony simply stuffed up the UK BD. It should be safe to buy any Mainland BD. The German and Dutch reviews all say the running time is 104 minutes, which matches the IMDB listing.
