Asian Movies in HD!

Never put much stock in DVDTherapy reviews from their old DVD days, whenever I've visited their site through DVD-Basen for BD reviews they've always seemed very slight to me. Mind you I've gotten into trouble before for slating the site so watch what you say Salty!

Hard Boiled coming to blu-ray-this looks interesting as the distributor isn't Dragon Dynasty,it's Shout Factory,who have done very good work recently on some Roger Corman movies.

Good idea Grim. Even if they were English friendly, they'd be so expensive. Did Game of Death and Tower of Death get released in HK? I didn't think they had. Maybe these are new master or transfers.

Hopefully some of the HK BD flaws are fixed though. I watched parts of my HKL PE's of First of Fury and The Big Boss a couple of months back and they hold up very well. I was still impressed how they look. If I'm going to pay over the odds for the BDs I want to be blown away. I'll wait for the Western BDs.

HKL PE's Way of the Dragon still looks rubbish though .

I dont know if they'd release them but at least I tried - on the site they say "the best in CONTEMPORARY Asian cinema"
If Cine Asia wont, I'll try DD (there's no one else there?) Of course, HKL/PA are dead, sadly

No offence Grim but don't you think it might've already occurred to CineAsia that releasing Bruce's movies to BD would be a good idea this is a company happy to put shite like Force Of Five out on the format.If they had the rights to Bruce's movies i'm sure we'd know.but sure,there's no harm in mailing them.

Most of these were released on DVD under the Hong Kong Legends label a number of years back, but to date I haven’t heard any news regarding Blu-Ray releases.

Presumably whoever own HKL now? I know they're no more but someone acquired the rights. I forget who. I imagine Cine-Asia could quite easily acquire the rights.

There's sweet FA about HKL on their website, not much at all actually. E1 Entertainment into Google gives me this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E1_Entertainment, which gives me this: http://www.e1ent.com/, which finally gives me this (UK branch): http://www.entertainmentone.co.uk/.

You can basically copy/paste but obviously ask if they still hold the rights first.
