I'm seeing a lot of fine detail in your "DVD" caps (the kind of detail you can't find in a 720x576 picture).

I thought I was on crack for a moment earlier, did not comment becuase of it. The HD is lighter, less contrast and seems the blacks are bit light but it is slightly better detail wise, not exactly good quality HD mind you for a film shot on such an epic format film stock, what the hell they did such a shitty transfer onto HD is beyond me.
Maybe the Criterions better than both them
