Class of 1999 (1989-USA) *½
Trashy futuristic follow-up to cult exploitation.

Deadline (2009-USA) **
Dullish chiller tries for enigmatic, but ends up making little sense.

Baby Blood - 2/5

Not enough plot here, but the effects were cool.

The Man with the Severed Head - 2.5/5

Daft, but it was OK.

Antiviral (2013) - 4.5/5

Like father, like son. Even though it feels like it takes bit from various Cronenberg films, it's still very original. I shall look forward to what he does next.

Oblivion (2013) - 4/5

Solid sci-fi, made up of familiar plot points, but it's done very well.

The Ambulance (1990-USA) ***
Fun, pulpy mystery-thriller from Larry Cohen, with an enjoyably flamboyant performance by Eric Roberts.

The First Power (1990-USA) **½
Creepy, slick serial killer/demonic possession horror-thriller, doesn't quite hold up thru the climax.

The Guardian (1990-USA) **
Terrifying tale of left wing newspaper taking over British politics!
OK, so it's actually William Friedkin's silly, but oddly watchable tree demon chiller.

The Exterminator 2.5/5 80's revenge actioner, a staple from way back to the VHS days is very much of it's time but for the most part entertaining enough.Robert Ginty is rather bland in the lead role but Christopher George chewing the scenery is always good viewing :)

Exterminator 2 1/5 Appalling sequel is astoundingly inept on virtually every level-incoherent at times, sloppily edited, poorly shot action sequences and a weak cast led by a totally going through the motions Robert Ginty.

Misery (1990-USA) ***
Sinister, well-acted Stephen King adaptation.

New Jack City (1991-USA) **½
Pretty good urban gangstaz/anti-drug movie.

Crush (2012-USA) **½
Thoughtful, if derivative teen-oriented thriller about stalking/twisted obsession.

Side Out (1990-USA) **
Vapid, but harmless yuppie/beach volleyball comedy.

Loose Cannons (1989-USA) *½
Action-comedy; pretty awful by anyone's standards.

Flashback (1990-USA) **½
Amusing, if silly hippies in the 80s comedy; Dennis Hopper is well cast and having fun.

Dark Skies (2013) - 1/5

I knew it'd be crap, and it was. No charisma from the actors, really boring, things that are meant to be scary are just unintentionally funny.

Men at Work (1990-USA) **
Dopey black comedy-thriller has just enough manic energy to keep it afloat.

Backtrack (1989-USA) **
Absurd thriller with a knockout cast.

The Croods: 4/5

Fun CGI adventure with some spectacular effects (especially water and fire), the story is pretty standard but entertaining.

Navy SEALS (1990-USA) **
Put your brain into neutral and the macho heroics kill time without fuss.

Get Him to the Greek (2010-USA) *
Yet another dire comedy from the Apatow stable.

Breakdown (1997-USA) ***
Solid kidnap suspense-thriller with Kurt Russell.

Navajo Joe (1966-Italy-Spain) **
Second-tier Spaghetti Western from Sergio Corbucci.
Of note only as an early starring role for Burt Reynolds as a vengeful 'Indian'.

Evil Dead (2013) - 2.5/5

An hour and a half of gore and screaming gets tiresome. I liked it more than the original though.

Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael (1990-UK) **½

Low key comedy-drama; Winona Ryder is excellent as an alienated teen.

And I had to turn the second one off after 10 minutes as it was too irritating :D

A Show of Force (1990-USA-Hong Kong) **½

Intriguing political thriller based on a true story (from 1978 Puerto Rico);
less melodrama and a better lead actress would no doubt have gotten this an extra half star.

Quigley Down Under (1990-USA-Australia) **½
Amusing tongue-in-cheek western with Tom Selleck.

Robocop 2 (1990-USA) **
Overlong sequel retains the satiric content and nihilistic tone of the superior original, but takes too many directorial missteps this time.

The Last Stand (2013-USA) **½

Far from classic Arnie, but bloody action pic is moderately fun.

I agree with you Mark, I enjoyed the film :D (Think I gave it 7/10). Arnie pokes good natured fun at himself I thought :)

7 from me too, lots of fun and I can't wait to watch it again on Blu-ray! :D The UK Blu artwork is awful though so I might import lol, the US artwork is much better.

Gonna see it in cinema next week. At least it can't be as bad as Expendables 2, can it?

The CGI blood was a nuisance. I wish people would stop referring to these films as 'old school' as there's little old school about them other than the star. I enjoyed The Expendables 2 on a similar level, so I'm not sure what Hung will make of it. Hasn't The Last Stand opened in Japan yet? It's out on BD in three weeks! Already on DVD in some countries. And yeah, the US art is much better. I don't think the UK release did itself any favours plastering Johnny Knoxville over the poster and giving him equal billing. He's actually third billed (after Forest Whittaker) and only Arnie's name is before the title.
