The BNB let's review a film you haven't seen thread!!

Post by saltysam »

Avatar 1.5/5 Though i've read the 3d is ace in this from the reviews i've read and pictures i've seen on the internet i've decided this looks pretentious, overlong stuff so will judge it accordingly.

Nine 1/5 Again i have no intention of seeing this Rob Marshall wankfest but judging by the clips i've seen on the telly and the fact it's apparently bombed big-time in America again i will award it my accurate mark!!!

I'm surprised Nine has bombed. This sort of film usually does well. Chicago did, which was ropey. I wanted to see it this week but it's not showing in my area yet, maybe next week. I'm a sucker for musicals, even those directed by Rob Marshall. It has a strong cast at least.

Sherlock Holmes 3/5 haven't seen even a clip of this one and i don't normally like Guy Ritchie movies but given that it stars the charismatic Robert Downey Jr playing such an iconic character i'll go out on a limb and award this a solid 3 stars :)

Sherlock Holmes 4.5/5 I'm going to have to disagree there. A newspaper I read the other day gave it 5/5, but I doubt that it would be that good a film, so I'm going to be more optimistic and give it a good 4 and a half. Although I might change that to only 4 if I spill my drink later and get annoyed.

Ritchie has made 2 decent movies (Lock Stock, Snatch). Sherlock Holmes looks like an awful Americanised and action orientated adaptation of the classic sleuth. I won't be bothering.

I hear RocknRolla is good though.

Dark Knight 3:The Bat Is Back 3.5/5

I know this hasn't started filming yet but from what i gather Nolan & Bale are back on board.personally i didn't think the Dark Knight was as good as the hype and Bale's voice as Batman grates,i'll also say Nolan's handling of combat sequences isn't very good. However given that it's a Batman movie and i'll assume they get a top notch villain i have to go with my instincts and mark this one just shy of being excellent :)

Taking Things Seriously 1/5
Not sure if this is a film being made, but I'm going to give it one mark for each person that is doing so.

Editted - changed last word from "do" to "so"which it was meant to be in the first place, but I am a retard.

Anyone else seen that new Ben Stiller movie? I sure haven't, but I can already tell that it sucks.

In fact, I have no idea what it's called or if there even is a new Ben Stiller movie out yet, but the humour is lame, the performances are weak at best, cinematography is a word Ben can't even spell, so don't expect anything from that either, the soundtrack is your average vomit-inducing american indie-pop-rock band crap, and the poster is Ben in a weird outfit posing cool while still looking like Ben, thus 'funny'.

Like pretty much any Ben Stiller movie, I'd rate this a 1/5, with the only positive taken from this that it keeps the less intelligent people out of screenrooms that show the more interesting movies.

I didn't pretend, I don't care ;).

Stiller's made the odd good film but much of it is rubbish. Adam Sandler is worse. So many American film comedians go for the obvious gags, again and again.

If I got to shag Megan Fox. I bet I'd be rating it higher than 5 out of 5. 10 out of 5 more likely .

Probably cause many americans are braindead lemmings. You could put a laughter track over Schindlers List and they'd think they'd be watching an old Charlie Chaplin comedy.

If she wouldn't speak, move, or try to act, I could imagine people finding her attractive.

Sadly, she does, and her complete and utter dumbness would kill off any potential stiffy I'd get.
I've seen her in a couple of interviews now, and although it isn't as bad as 'Britney Spears dumb', it's pretty damn close.

I've no problem with Megan Fox's acting, it's fine for what it is. I've not listened to her in interviews but boy she is HOT!
