Death Note (2006) on Film4

Unread postby gasteropod » 28 Feb 2009, 19:28

Tonight at 10:55pm. I haven't seen it but it looks pretty good from the advert, I'm sure I saw they were showing the sequel too and thought that was also tonight but maybe that's next week since it's not on tonight's listings.

I saw that listed in the TV Guide but it's animated isn't it?

It's the live action adaptation of the anime, starring the main young man out of Battle Royale. The sequel is next Saturday by the way.

Was it any good then?

As you're unlikely to watch the marvelous anime series, it wouldn't do you any harm in watching it.

I personally hated it, a badly written adaptation with horrible casting. Nanahara from Battle Royale can't fucking act at all. Light's fantastic voice talent also does a lot of Live Action work and is handsome to boot, he wouldn't been perfect here too.

I thought it was decent enough, there was definitely some dodgy acting in parts, and the CGI of the demon guy was a bit naff, but it was good enough to make me want to watch the second part this Saturday. I haven't seen the anime by the way, but I can imagine it being better.

Doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy.
