The Beyonce and Alexndra duet was so, so, so much better than the Westlife and Boyzone ones.

The cynic in mean could even say it was rigged. Westlife are still pretty good but boy Boyzone are passed it.

They can sing. I never said I was a fan and compared to Boyzone they're fantastic, which was really my point.

Alex was coming across as stuck up on the Xtra factor asking:

1. She have a duet with Girls Aloud
2. She have another duet with Beyonce
3. She support Beyonce on tour
4. Holly call her kid Alex

I'm sure she wasn't being entirely serious but even so.

p.s - What sort of person wanting to make it in the music industry allows themselves to be filmed? A stupid one.

I didnt see those parts but I think Beyonce really supported Alex and she (Beyonce) was really Alex's hero. As you say maybe she said it in a jokey way but why not? There arent many established singers who duet with Beyonce let alone amateurs.

And Mariah Carey, yawn!

She came across a little stuck up for someone who has just won an award show. They think this is IT when frankly it's only just begun for them.

The X Factor is by no means a ticket to success.

Yeah, she said Mariah Carey. But you can have more than one idol :)
I agree with your point though that it doesnt guarantee success by any means (Look at Steve B). I think she was graceful in winning, she kept thanking everybody many times she was just emotional and excited too (which explains the tears I guess). Ruth was also lovely and very polite in defeat when she went.

Remember when artists had to struggle for years playing dingy pubs before getting spotted or a demo tape finding its way to an execs desk? Now megastardom is handed out on a silver platter. When will the public see thru this?

That does sound stupid when I read it ;) I just meant that guy is an asshole and he doesnt care about her. Alex shouldnt pay him. I'd get the police involved regarding the stalking though.

Exactly. To be fair many still do it the old fashioned way.

As to the public seeing through it, they largely do. The majority of these so called stars disappear after the shows are over. I bet Leon Jackson does.

I dont think Alex will though and Leona didnt because she was very good (but its not like she was an untrained novice off the street, when she entered she was already pretty much a polished product).

Isn't that Alex just Leona, Part II?

They all sound THE SAME............ with that faux emotion and whimpering vocal gymnastics.

How many Mariah Carey's can the public take?

Alex was probably told to do that stuff at the end of the track. I think Alex has a better lower register, while Leona has a better upper register (considering Alex has a low alto voice she hit some pretty high notes during Hallelujah).

Keep trying to convince us Grim they sound different, with all this technical babble :D. They essentially have identical types of voices.

I think Alex's voice is more "soul" TBH and Alex sang a few more upbeat songs on XF and danced, but yeah, Alex may release similar music to Leona. I dunno.

Well thats not Alex's fault. Depends if Simon sets her up as a competitor for Leona or not. They do have similar voices but they can sing different sorts of music IMO :)
I think Alex was a worthy winner this year :D
