Read the F'ing posts Grim
.
WOW! On those BD covers. Isn't the HK SPL BD still expensive? The UK BD is bound to shoot down in price quickly. Chocolate is good value now.

'A film by Yuen Woo Ping'?
I'm trying to get in contact with Cine-Asia (and Vivendi) - hopefully, they'll respond.

Do Vivendi now own DD?

I'm not sure, I get the impression they might be a freelance distributor.

99% highly doubt that. There would have been a press release for something like that. More like what Chen just said. Another distro authorized to release their titles.

I'm sure Gordon Chan will be thrilled to know someone else directed his film.

That was the older DD artwork, maybe they'll change it like DD did in the end.

Apart from that faux-pas I rather like the artwork.

Possibly and it's also now known by that name, to some people.

Cine Asia got back to me, but sadly, their hands are tied and it looks like they won't be able to alter anything. I'd love it if they could get some fresh Fortune Star goodies directly - they probably won't come from DD as they lost the rights for whatever reason, but that would mean they could start again.
The one thing I'd ask for at least is re-translation of the subtitles if they were permitted to do such a task. The whole thing's bloody ridiculous.

Anything? You mean the title? I thought that might be DD throwing their weight around - looks like I was right. They can correct a mistake re. the director though, surely?

The problem with most companies is that their negotiators are weak and big fish can always sense when little fish are in their tank - thus you get silly demands and restrictions which the little fish accept and pay for.

As long as they make money they don't give a shit. Chan? Yuen? It's all fucking Chinese to them.

Even Jet Li probably has more right to call it "his" film, he produced it (or executive produced it), he worked on it more than YWP did.

Technically speaking, cant Gordon Chan sue DD for falsely putting that credit on there?

Probably. You may want to suggest that to Cine Asia.
