Chinese Zodiac (China, 2012) [Flight] – 2/5 The third instalment to the Armour of God series is a mostly unsuccessful children’s movie. Jackie Chan shows his age both in front and behind the screen: many of the stunt scenes are wire assisted, and shot poorly enough to make Chan’s old Hong Kong film...

How odd, I'll have to keep an eye on Entertainment One from now on. A customer on Amazon says it's open-matte rather than cropped, though.

After Earth (2013) - 1.5/5

Poor performances, poor cinematography, effects, plot, pretty boring all-round really.

Man of Steel (2013) - 4/5

My first IMAX 3D experience and it was pretty overwhelming. The film is messy, narratively more like a montage, but at the same time so entertaining and the fight scenes just made me have a massive grin on my face.

The Purge (2013) - 3/5

Better than I thought it was going to be, reminded me of Funny Games, very violent for a 15.

Grim, how much are you wanting to spend on a TV? Because I bought a Panasonic TX-42ST50 last month and that's the best one to go for value for money-wise if you can stretch that far, offering almost comparable quality to their flagship model when calibrated. The 2013 model is basically the same, but...
