Since we're talking about ratings and censorship: in the 80's K-18 films were not allowed on video in Finland. Everything was cut to K-16. Since it was the distributors themself who had to cut their films they didn't want to take any risks with getting a 16 rating. So, they cut Robocop by 11 minutes...

Mark, how's the mono? Seemed fine to me, but I'm no audiophile. Believe it or not, neither am I. All I want is the original soundtrack that is in sync and doesn't sound like it was recorded inside a bottle. I know it's a lot to ask when it comes FS / FOX... But thanks. I may consider getting Fox th...

Grim: I said it's a kids film because the director ment it for kids to see (he was obsessed about getting a '12' rating). MPAA is a joke. No one is comlaining about them because no one is taking them seriously. German boards was a regular joke when I was a kid, but that was 10 years ago. Brad: what ...

Transfers are not perfect, but still very good. And you were expecting perfect transfers for 20-30 year old films that have only cult followings? No. I just said the transfers are not perfect. Because I own older cult films with better transfers. Be thankful you're not getting non-anamorphic letter...

Since I'm bored, tired and too stupid to go to sleep, I took a few caps from HK Video's Street Fighter Box set. Transfers are not perfect, but still very good. Colors could be a bit stronger at times (I remember Toei's Sister caps looking slightly better) but that's hardly a problem. The audio is, l...

Fuck, you may be right. I should read the whole text before I starting to copy it. "However, director Kinji Fukasaku went back and edited some of the more violent scenes along with filming some new ones to create a ”Special Version” which people under the age of 15 can see. " It doesn't say if he su...

No, it got a lower rating. Remember the opening scene? There's a '15' logo that gets ripped apart.

It's a bit hard for me to say. I love Aya so much she can do pretty much anything and I will love it.

But I think the film is actually okay. There's some really awesome shots here and there (like that opening scene) and Aya is... well, Aya :drunken:

BR got the highest cinema rating in Japan (R15), how is that for kids? :? It got the highest rating in Japan, the highest rating here. Hardly a kids movie! R18 is the highest rating in Japan. And it is indeed a kids film. Fukasaku wasn't happy at all when they gave the film '15' rating. That'...

@Brad: There's a 2.0 cantonese track on the Mei Ah, but it's way out of sync. About the 5.1 tracks: it's a wild remix (like lots of Mei Ah discs) with foley effects flying all over the speakers but it sounds good. The dialogue track is a little muffled, but not too bad. I think it works well, espec...

Modern??? It looks like they tried to get the 70's feeling, but it fails because the design it way too "clean" and...uhm... modern looking. It looks like something created in the 2000's, not in the 70's. But like I said, it's not bad, I just would've prefered them choosing a direction and going all...
