Infernal Affairs Trilogy - Subtitles

On one hand we've got the Hong Kong as well as the UK BDs (subs on the Hong Kong ones are alright, not sure about the UK releases), on the other there's the Dragon Dynasty DVDs (good subs from what I can remember).

Which should I opt for?

Re: I've just got banned from KFC!

I never really got why so many left bullets for good...was there a big time gap between the old and new forums? Other forms of social media have taken over, basically. Facebook, youtube, instagram, vlogs etc. Forums are a thing of the past these days. I used to be a regular commentator at the Stunt...

Re: Bruce Lee - UK Bluray editions

Too bad. Oh well, will stick with the US BDs for now. Thanks.

Bruce Lee - UK Bluray editions

I have the US BDs courtesy of Shout! Factory and am quite pleased with the video and audio quality. The only bothersome thing are the subtitles as they seem to be off several times and may be based on the Cantonese dub --- hence for the timing being off when choosing the Mandarin dub. Can anyone con...

Re: Kiss of the Dragon - Best Bluray edition

Well, if anything you can just get the German BD since it's the only release that contains the uncut version.

Re: Kiss of the Dragon - Best Bluray edition

All BD releases from 2006 were pretty much the same old crap, with the 2011 German BD release being a slight improvement. However the US re-issue by Anchor Bay remains a mystery (I might consider ordering it at some point though) and there's no French BD yet.

Re: Ip Man 3 (2015)

With 3D you will often find them sacrificing choreography in order to just kick/punch/throw straight into the camera, and that rarely results in a nice flowing fight TBH. Apart from the 3D though, I'm just fucking disappointed they'll be going even MORE fictional with Ip Man than they already did. ...

Kiss of the Dragon - Best Bluray edition

The 2006 BD edition pretty much sucked due to MPEG-2 video encoding. However, two recent editions caught my attention: The German BD (claims to be the uncut version) and the newly released US re-issue by Anchor Bay/Starz, both encoded in MPEG-4 AVC. Anyone have these editions and could confirm super...

Didn't the EH DVD have deleted scenes? Maybe thats what was on the DVD as extras
Yeah, the UK DVD has those scenes as extras. The source was an old Taiwanese VHS release.

Re: Drunken Tai Chi - R1 US/Miramax DVD

Haha, besides that though. But word is that this edition is 5 min longer than other releases, which to me sounds alot like the Taiwanese version. It includes an alternate opening involving chickens (the use of bikes in the original HK print) and three additional scenes: an introductory scene featuri...

Drunken Tai Chi - R1 US/Miramax DVD

Does anyone have this edition? If so, how does it compare to the R2 UK/Eastern Heroes DVD? Strange that it has been under the radar although it was released just last year. http://www.miramax.com/movie/drunken-tai-chi/ http://www.amazon.com/Drunken-Tai-Chi-Donnie-Yen/dp/B00BUV9XCE/ref=sr_1_29?s=movi...

Re: Favorite movie/TV fighters

You're welcome :D

Since kicking is mandatory to this thread, I'm going to add Kim Won Jin and Whang In Sik. Kim has got to have the most beautiful kicks I've ever seen onscreen, while Whang is one hell of a versatile kicker being as fierce with them hands as he is with the kicks.

Donnie Yen - Fantastic martial arts actor who keeps evolving his craft in fight choreography - moving from one style to another - and improving as an actor ( Ip Man films, Bodyguards & Assassins , Wu Xia , The Monkey King ). China Strike Force - Original Audio

The diverse cast makes you think the actors were speaking their respective language but it appears that everyone spoke English. For example: when Aaron Kwok is fighting Mark Dacascos Wang Lee-Hom says that he's going to help out Paul Chun Pui to which Kwok responds saying that he's continuing fighti...

Re: I've just got banned from KFC!

You should have seen me on the stunt people site. Beat TG remembers. I was so mad, and then when I got banned, I really lost it. I actually got so mad that I somehow managed to force myself back on the forum. It has to be one of the biggest blow ups in internet history. But no worries these days. I...

Re: Kung Fu Jungle (2014)

I think I know what you mean now: lots of those 80s/90s HK action films where the mood changes once the genre ingredients kicks in back-to-back. Wu Xia isn't like that though because technically it's a mix of traditional wu xia and mystery/thriller with action infused. This film looks like it's taki...
